Two week check up

We have been blessed with the most amazing baby. She eats and sleeps like a champ. She makes being a first time mom a breeze. Today she had her two-week check up. After being born at 6 lbs 9 oz, going home for the hospital at 6.25...she now weighs 7.45! So she is growing.

Week 1, Grandma and Grandpa Carpenter were here. They were an amazing amount of help and had great opportunities to love on our little Ella. Derek and I have learned that Ella, like most babies, likes to pee and poop when she is in the middle of being changed. She can't fit in any of her clothes because she is the size of a preemie. Grandma C and Oma (dutch for grandma - ella's name for Grandma Taatjes) came to the rescue and gave her some preemie sleepers. She had her first sponge bath. Oma, Opa, and Aunt Hillary snuck in as many visits as possible. Mom and Dad fell madly in love with her.

Week 2, Ella is growing...she keeps eating and sleeping. Aunt Linsey and Aunt Hillary, smoothered her with kisses. Her umbilical cord fell off, and she had her first real bath. We have had amazing visitors and gifts from our friends. We also are getting meals, which is a huge help. Ella attended her first football game (pee-wee) on her second week birthday.

During the first day of week 3, Ella attended her first church service and youth group.
